Summertime and is your outdoor space cutting the mustard?
As I write this, the sun is beating down and thoughts naturally turn to digging out the garden chairs and inviting friends over for a lazy BBQ. Our outdoor space may not take pride of place for many months of the year, but when it comes to these lovely long days and nights is there more that we can do to spruce things up and make the exterior of our homes all the more appealing?
A few easy wins include:
Jet washing – what a quick and easy one this is. Get all that deep grained dirt out from the grooves of your decking or from between patio slabs and grout, gives a fabulous lift in no time
A brick built BBQ – another great addition, quite quick and easy to build, fabulous to recreate that South American ‘asado’ or South African ‘braii’ in your own back garden.
Garden lighting – there are now fantastic options to add smart lighting to your garden. Easily controlled wirelessly from anywhere, all kinds of beautiful effects can be created.
Give your shed and fencing a spruce up – again, another easy win, which really enhances both the look of the wood whilst providing essential maintenance and ensuring longevity.
Tidying up or relaying patios and front paths – a bit more involved but again a fabulous addition to the home providing practical, as trip hazards are reduced, as well as aesthetic improvement to your outside space.
Artificial lawn – Fed up with scratchy lawn and that inevitable parched August look? Artificial grass is a fantastic alternative, great for gardens which take a lot of use and outdoor play. Several layers of preparation and a good quality top layer can transform your garden in a matter of days.
Just a few ideas for a quick summertime spruce up and who doesn’t want the perfect setting for that refreshing post work G and T?
