Trends in colour

Every year, the Pantone Color Institute analyse trends in colour. Taking inspiration from film, the environment, current affairs, art, fashion, top travel destinations and the socio-economic climate they choose a colour, or in this case, colours of the year.

For 2021, they’ve have chosen:

Ultimate Gray - a statement shade which is designed to evoke:

"composure, steadiness and resilience"

And they have paired it with:

Illuminating which hopes to create the:

"optimistic promise of a sunshine-filled day"

They’ve very much tapped into the zeitgeist of these turbulent months and tried to blend hope whilst acknowledging the bad times. Or as they say, these colours deliver  ‘a message of happiness supported by fortitude.’
